Today, I discovered I lost an amazing friend of 26 years. Heaven gained a wonderful angel today who gives the best hugs and has an incredible smile. I am thankful to have known Phyllis, my cheerleading coach of 7 years, for all of these years. She impacted my life while growing up in multiple positive ways that I will never forget.
Thankfully, I have my yellow Lab Happy here to console me at home while my two oldest boys are at school, my husband is at work, and our baby is napping. She has been a reliable furry shoulder to cry on today. Happy knows I am upset and is "at my feet" more today than usual. It is incredible how four-legged friends know when we need them most.
