New review for If I Can't Be At Your Feet

Readers are providing much appreciated feedback and reviews and here is the latest  . . .

If I Can’t Be At Your Feet
In his autobiography, Gunther Denali, the black lab, takes us along with him as he reminisces on some of the many (mis)adventures during his 15 years. His philosophy of living every minute to its fullest is evident as he recounts his life from puppyhood into advanced age. Gunther Denali has lessons for all of us. What a life! A word of caution: don’t let your dog read this book. Some of Gunther’s antics may not be things you want your dog trying. And you will need to explain to your dog why you don’t throw lavish birthday parties complete with wrapped birthday presents for it every year.

Crystal Frakes Brown, an independent author, was inspired to write this book by the love and loyalty of her black lab Gunther, who stuck by her side throughout the many sleepless nights of her pregnancy.

If I Can't Be At Your Feet Book Signings - Big Successes!

Old Boys' Brewhouse in Spring Lake and Must Love Dogs in Grand Haven graciously hosted book signing events for If I Can't Be At Your Feet this past weekend.  These were my first two signings ever, so I was unsure what to expect.  Thankfully, many friends along with some new fans attended to make the events both a lot of fun and successful.  The word about this inspirational book written through a dog's point of view is starting to spread, and I am so thankful for our friends' and new fans' support.

Cheers to our four-legged friends and to a happy, happy holiday season!

Remember the reason for the season!

As the holiday hustle and bustle builds, sometimes we forget to focus on what really matters during this very special time of year.  As our black Labrador Retriever Gunther Denali suggests frequently throughout If I Can't Be At Your Feet, make each moment count and give in any way you can whether it is through donating to your favorite charity, selling Christmas trees at your church, offering your skills and time to an elderly person, or giving your four-legged lover a huge belly rub.  Focus on what really matters and make sure those close to you know you love them.  Happy Holidays!

If I Can't Be At Your Feet has a similar message as "Quiet Your Mind" by Zac Brown Band

Our black Labrador Gunther Denali teaches us many valuable life lessons in If I Can't Be At Your Feet.  These lessons are very similar to the messages in the song "Quiet Your Mind" by the Zac Brown Band.  As Zac Brown sings, "Soak it all in, it's a game you can't win, enjoy the ride," he describes that life is short so enjoy it to the fullest.  Gunther will do the same for readers in If I Can't Be At Your Feet through his endless adventures of boating on Lake Michigan, going to a Jimmy Buffett concert, staying in hotels, and donating to the Goodwill.  Happy Reading!  Follow the link below to purchase a copy for Christmas:)  Enjoy!

Canine Parrotheads

With this cold, rainy, and gloomy weather, I long to be somewhere warm, south, and sunny. If you prefer to be "knee deep in the water somewhere" like Jimmy Buffett and Zach Brown, then you will like reading the Canine Parrotheads' chapter in If I Can't Be At Your Feet. Please enjoy this small excerpt to brighten your day.

                                                  Canine Parrotheads

"Even though Happy and I have many differences, I love being her dad and constant partner in crime. Fortunately, we have learned to agree on some things, such as music that whisks us away to amazing tropical islands where we feel sand beneath our paws and are constantly on “island time.” No one does this better for us than Jimmy Buffett and The Coral Reefer Band!

We have been Jimmy Buffett fans ever since I can remember, and his music sets the atmosphere at our house. What is not to love about him and his island music? His tunes definitely help the summer parties get sizzlin’ and brighten the many, many gloomy days that Michigan has during the long winter months.

If you are not familiar with Jimmy Buffett, let me enlighten you. He is a very talented and creative singer/songwriter/musician/entrepreneur/author who takes you away to the Caribbean with his songs, restaurants, and books of margaritas, beaches, sailing, fishing, partying, and cheeseburgers. Many of his songs inspire you to follow your heart and go after your dreams no matter how big or small they are. Every time, Jimmy leaves you with a smile on your face, a song in your heart, a cheeseburger in your tummy, and a margarita or Landshark Lager in your hands."

CHEERS to sunny days ahead and to If I Can't Be At Your Feet being available in mid-November through iUniverse.com!

"If I Can't Be At Your Feet" a new book by Crystal Frakes Brown

Gunther Denali is a rambunctious, well-educated, wise, curious, and creative soul swirled into one vivacious black Labrador Retriever.  He encourages us to live life to the fullest and play as hard as we can because tomorrow is promised to no one.  Whether Gunther is fishing for salmon on Lake Michigan, going to a Jimmy Buffett concert, exploring Indiana University's campus, or getting into the refrigerator anytime he is hungry, he dances through life and highlights our soul purpose.
